Alisa has been nominated for the Writer Honoree of the Year award at the first-ever JewCie Awards.

The first ceremony ever held in celebration of Jewish comics, the JewCie Awards supports JewCE’s mission by honoring the creators of Jewish comic book narratives, themes, and characters. Such awards serve as a platform to acknowledge and celebrate the unique contributions of artists, storytellers, and creators who have invested their talents and passion into Jewish storytelling through the medium of comics.

Corpse & Crown Reviews and News!

The wait is over! Here’s a review of Corpse & Crown, the second book in my Cadaver & Queen alt history Victorian YA series, which is hitting bookstores Feb 12. I’m going to be posting more about my Facebook Live event, along with my Weird Science Improv Show Feb 16 and my reading at Oblong Books on Feb 17!

NYCC

If you’re at NYCC this year and want to see me, stop by the Making Ships Sail panel on Saturday, October 7, from 12:15-1:15. There’s also a book signing right after.

New York Comic Con

I’m going to be in New York for Comic Con all next week, mainly connecting with old friends and trying not to spend too much money, but also sitting on a panel Saturday, October 7, called “Making Ships Sail” from 12:15-1:15. I’ll also be signing advance copies of Cadaver & Queen afterwards–then running to the DC Booth at 4 pm to get interviewed about Mystik U. I’m excited, but also a little nervous–the crowds at the Javitz Center make me feel a little squirrely. So if you see me and I shoot you a glassy-eyed look of panic, please say something reassuring?

Batgirl Art

So, I’ve spent the weekend putting finishing touches on my second Batgirl script (translation, trying to make sure I haven’t screwed anything up in the overarching continuity) and now, at last, I think I am done. To celebrate, I am posting some art by the wonderful Rick Leonardi, who is brilliant at pointing out little things that make me think, “Wow, I should really have thought of that.”
