Graphic Novel Pitch Workshop
In four weeks, we’re going to take our idea and develop it until we have a sample scene scripted, the main character designs/descriptions, and a very detailed outline/synopsis. (The goal will be for all of these to be written, but writer/illustrators can illustrate as well.)
Week One: Come armed with at least one idea and let’s work on a pitch line, character descriptions and ways to tighten the conflict. If you have more than one idea, we will work on deciding which one comes first.
Week Two: Creating an outline for the script based on Save the Cat or The Writer’s Journey.
Week Three: Writing a scene in full comic book script form.
Week Four: Workshopping the scenes!
Dates: Thursday October 9, October 16, October 23 and October 30, 6-730 pm. $300. 6 people minimum, 8 people maximum.
The class will be live online via Zoom. $300 for the four weeks, and there will be an option for purchasing a one on one editorial session with me at the end of the class.
In class exercises and some homework. To register: Email alisa@alisakwitney.com with the subject line Graphic Novel Pitch Workshop. An official link will be on my website shortly.
